Christmas Eve is my favourite day of the year. Even more than Christmas Day which always feels extra-busy, I enjoy this little pocket of quiet and calm, especially after nightfall. I don’t ALWAYS succeed – I often still have presents to wrap and so on. But a nice dinner, a Christmas movie and hot cup of tea, and snuggles with my husband (and this year my pup!) always make me really happy.
In front of a fireplace, of course. Here’s ours, freshly installed for the season:
